According to an agreement between THDC India Limited and Uttarakhand Technical University, Uttarakhand is going to run India 's first hydropower engineering institute. This institute will situated in Tehri district of Uttarakhand. The cost of this project is estimated around Rs 50 crore this includes only infrastructure, labs, furniture and other basic equipments cost. This cost shall be borne by THDCIL.
