Lakhwar Project (a project of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd) is a power peaking project which is functioning in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand. As said above that Lakhwar project is a power peaking project by UJVNL and is started to construct about 204 metre high concrete dam on Yamuna river near Lohari village situated in capital of Uttarakhand i.e. Dehradun. There is also one other goal of Lakhwar Project that under this project construction of Vyasi HEP a 2x60 MW power project also known as Hathiari power station downstream of Lakhwar HEP will also take place. Also under the same project construction of a barrier at Katapathar place which is situated about 3 Km from Hathiari power station (Vyasi HEP) on Yamuna will also construct. This barrier will help to control the water level which will released from Lakhwar and Vyasi reservoir. This water will then used in many purposes basically for irrigation purposes. So Lakhwara Project in Uttarakhand is basically a multi purpose scheme by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVNL) in Uttarakhand.
