Margaret Alva is not new to politics. She is also related to Indian National Congress and she also served her services as General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee. Margaret Alva is very close to Sonia Gandhi - Congress Chief. But due to some issues, Margaret Alva leaves Congress. She served in Indian Parliament from 1974 to 2004.
