Social Fantasy films have a advantage. Social Fantasy films do not require any logics. They can show any impossible things happen in the films. But, there should be an order in showing those impossible things. That should be like a beautiful dream. Audience should get a feeling that there are seeing some wonder infront of their eyes. The scene should take the audience into a new world. Scenes should be according to the audience feelings and belief's. Totally after watching the film, people should say "It will be so nice if it happens really" but they should not think "why this had happened". Then only Socio fantasy movies will get success. The movies which got huge success also belong to that category only. 'Damarukam' film which was released yesterday(23rd November) also belong to the category of Socio Fantasy. Did it have the above said qualities? Or not? Lets see.

When we come to story, between the battle of Demons and Gods, all the demons were killed but Andhakasura will escape with life. He wants to take the revenge on gods. He wants to take the powers of Panchabhootha's and want to rule the entire universe. To become the emperor of the universe, he had to marry a lady born with the blessings of Goddess Parvathi and he had to kill that lady on the day of formation of Pancha graha Kootami and on the day of Amavasya. Then how Lord Shiva had restricted this demon who is trying to the destruction of whole universe? And with which weapon does Lord Shiva had used to kill this demon? Is the remaining story. In the movies of stories like these, we had already discussed that there will be no logic. But the way the story is shown should have a logic. Movie will get a huge success if the it does not lose the thrill of the story through out the movie. In this movie, director had revealed the whole story in the first 10 minutes of the film. Even a small boy can say that the story will end with the death of the Demon. That's why it would have been more matter if script is more perfect. But, we can see the effort of the director Sreenivasa Reddy in every frame of the film. The way he had made the characters of Andhakasura and Nagarjuna's role is really appreciable. Mainly, the way the director planned the climax of the film is a wonder. Children will definitely like the scenes like Nagarjuna's fight with the Demon and Killing the Andhakasura with the Trishul, the weapon of lord Shiva. Nagarjuna had been very handsome in this film. He had also acted with good energy. This is the first fantasy film in his career. He had taken special care in doing this role. The cruelty in Andhakasura was well shown by the actor Ravi. It looks like Director had not concentrated much on the Lord Shiva's role in the film. He will be visible to even Brahmanandam. Some scenes seems to trouble the audience where the Demon who will turn into ashes if Lord Shiva gets angry, challenges infront of Lord Shiva. There are some good comedy scenes by Brahmanandam, M.S.Narayana, Krishna Bhaghavan and Raghu babu. Some graphics are very nice. At some places it gives a feeling of seeing a cartoon channel. The skill of cinematographer Chota.K.Naidu was superb. The main person who had to be praised in this film is music director Devi Sri Prasad. His songs and re-recording had given the life to the film. Damarukam is a good film to watch. You can enjoy your holiday with this visual treat. Mainly this film is an eye treat for children. They will enjoy the film very much.
