History
This temple is one of the Oldest and religious temple of the solan district. In this temple there a statue of Lord Shiva are placed and also Shiv Ling are placed. This is the Asia's highest temple of Lord Shiva's. It is believed that in the ancient times the Lord Shiva visits this place and stay for some time that's why this temple was built in this place. In this temple there are three main parts, firstly there is a statue of Shiva's, there a little cave where Lord Shiva's slept in the night and there is also a Shiv Ling. The construction of this temple is so good and it is in progress. Here every year in the month of the February on the occasion of Shivratri there is a function is held in which people from different parts came here and in the night there are religious song i.e. bhajan are sung by the people, and in the next day there is a free Langer are given to the people. As you know Lord Shiva is mostly interested in Marijuana so in this festival people drink the Mixture in which marijuana are given.
How to reach this temple
As this temple is situated in the solan district. Firstly you have to take a bus for jatoli on rajgarh road which is about 8 km from the solan. After that there is 100 stairs for the temple and when you reach the temple then there is a statue of Lord Shiva are placed, on the right side of this there is a cave where Lord Shiva slept and after that from 200 meter from it there is a Shiv Ling are placed. So you can reach this place by bus or taxi. You can also reach this temple by train and the nearest rail way station in solan on the Kalka-Shimla train, from this station it is about 8 km. You can also reach by aero plane and the nearest airport is in Shimla from where it is about 60 km. The best season to visit this place in the month of September or October because during this time it is not too much hot, you can also visit during the Shivratri because during that time there is a function also organize by the temple committee.
