Gompas was established in the year of 1922. It was made by the people of Tibet in the respect of Dalai Lama. The distance from Gompas to Kalimpong is about 5 kms which takes about 40 minutes for walking in between them. If you come to the lower position of the hill then you can reach the Thongsa Gompa which was the oldest monastery of West Bengal. It was built in the year of 1692. But that building was destroyed by the Gurkhas. And another monastery was the Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa which was built in the year of 1970. This place is just five km from Kalimpong. You can observe or can take all the joy of nature from this place. So it is one of the best tourist place of West Bengal.
