    Tina Ambani, the wife of industrialist Anil Ambani, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into alleged foreign exchange violations. Tina Ambani was questioned for over five hours by the ED officials. The ED is investigating Anil Ambani and his family members under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for allegedly investing in foreign assets without prior permission from the government. The allegations against the Ambanis stem from the Pandora Papers, a massive leak of financial documents that revealed the offshore holdings of wealthy individuals and entities around the world.


    Tina Ambani's appearance before the ED is the latest development in the case against the Ambanis. Anil Ambani had earlier appeared before the ED in March 2023. He was questioned for over 10 hours by the ED officials. The ED is still investigating the case against the Ambanis. It is not clear if Tina Ambani will be summoned again by the ED. The case against the Ambanis has been widely reported in the media. It has also been the subject of much political debate. Some politicians have accused the Ambanis of using their wealth and influence to evade the law. Others have defended the Ambanis, saying that they are being targeted by the government for political reasons.


    The case against the Ambanis is still ongoing. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the investigation will be.

    ED office is aggressively tracking the transactions made by people illegally or unfairly. Based on the information available they are calling the people for interrogation and if required they are raiding the premises of some top businessmen or politicians or rich people to unearth the black money as well as money accumulated through illegal means.
    I think this is a good development and people will think twice before making money through illegal or illegitimate channels.

    ED is making raids and enquiries about many money laundering. But ultimately we are not seeing any fruitful results. Telangana CM's daughter Kavita, an MLC in Telangana, was also called 3 or 4 times for enquiry but nothing happened. Nothing is proven and that lady is happily roaming around. Sometimes I feel ED is not able to fix anybody even in a single case. I don't even know what is happening to the properties that are attached by ED. If ED is able to fix the culprits in at least two or three cases and punish them, people of the country may get some confidence in the agencies like ED and CBI. Otherwise, opposition leaders will go on claiming that the party in power in the central government is using them for their benefit. Sometimes I feel the money that is being spent on ED is a waste and at least they are not able recover money what they are spending.
