The downpour led to waterlogging in several low-lying areas, including ITO, Pragati Maidan, and Akshardham. Traffic was also disrupted in some areas.

The Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to avoid certain roads and take alternative routes. The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the next few days.

The rain has also brought relief from the scorching heat. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, six degrees below the average for this time of year.

The rain is expected to continue in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. The Met Department has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain at isolated places in the region.

This time rain has created a havoc in Delhi and many areas near Yamuna river are filled with waist level water. All the low areas nearby are under threat and disaster management teams are shifting people to safe places. This is a unprecedented situation and until the water receeds back there is no respite to the residents in these areas.
