The home holds children who are downtrodden. They admit children who don't have parents or if their parents are unable to take care i.e., if they are physically or mentally unfit and if they are HIV patients. The children are admitted without discrimination on the basis of language, creed, religion, nation etc. all are considered as children of the Compassion Home. These children are taken care of properly and groomed well to improve themselves and make their own living. The children are given food, clothing and education and also enough care and love. The Jeroham Ministries Trust, a trust which strives to build a lot of care centres has their motto as "We are born to serve". Rightly as the motto says they are doing a lot of services. The trust received their trust registered in the year 1999. They undertake several programmes to reach their motto. The list though small stays full of service. Their programmes are educational programmes, a relief and welfare service, a church established by the trust, the children home, old age home and welfare for HIV patients. Their major concern is service to people who are socially, economically or educationally backward. Their service is well maintained and is proper, the trust members claim that with the blessing of God, they have good workers, good sponsors so that they can perform their service without any hurdles. The blessings from God have made their organisation survive and serve the needy. They operate mainly in the nearby towns and villages.
The thought of the trust members have allowed them to conduct several service camps.
• They conducted an eye camp along with the Lion's club and provided free check-up and also few cataracts were performed for old people, free of cost. They also found a living for blind people by providing a few of them with weighing machines.
• They helped the handicapped people with the handicapped cycles so that they can travel with ease.
• They are also striving to develop the slum areas, by building them their houses, roads etc.
• There are so many people who are not able to learn, the trust provide education to the needy. They provide computer courses such as tally, DTP and many other courses,
• They conduct a Leprosy camp every month. Sunday of the third week is chosen to give the basic things required for them like, food, slippers, paste etc.Future Development areas of Compassion Children Home
The trust has established their action plan to improve their service area widely. They have planned to start a rehabilitation centre for women and also for drug addicts. A training centre, medical centre are also in the list. They have planned to start a home for aged at Panakudi near Nagerkovil. The trust accepts donation from anybody and in any amount. We have all the welfare required and so is never a waste helping people who are needy. We might not be able to serve like Jeroham Trust but we can do what is possible through our donations. Sponsor a child scheme helps the child with dress, food and education and it costs Rs.1000 per month. Similarly the Day care donation also accepts Rs.1000 per month. All donations are tax exemptible.
