2011 summer vacation tourism course of IITTM Gwalior
Are there summer vacation tourism programs in India? Where can I enroll for a tourism course in the summer vacation in 2011? This article gives information on the Govt. of India summer vacation program in tourism organised by the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM), Madhya Pradesh.
The Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM), Madhya Pradesh is organizing a summer training program, which includes field visits, for students to impart tourism skills & create basic awareness of tourism. The program called Earn While You Learn (EWYL) is under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
Duration: 21 days; It will be a full time program from 10 am to 5 pm (with a lunch break of one hour).
Costs involved:
* Breakfast, dinner, accommodation, personal effects, others.
* Accommodation & food arrangements at nominal rates may be made at IITTM Gwalior hostels on first come first serve basis.
* Tea and lunch as well as course materials will be provided by IITTM. EWYL 2011 IITTM Program Schedules

* Program 9: at Bhubaneswar from June 20 to July 10, 2011
Note: counseling date for each program is scheduled one day earlier from start of program. Please check program dates and times from official website given at the end of this article.
Eligibility for EWYL 2011 IITTM summer tourism program
* Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks or pursuing graduation with a minimum of 50% marks in the second year (of graduate course) examination.
* Age: between 18 to 25 years.
* Students still attending college will have to obtain a No-objection certificate (NOC) from the Principal of the college / institute for joining the IITTM program.
Stipend: Every successful candidate will be paid Rs.1000/- on completion of the program. Successful candidates will also be given a tourism volunteer card and Certificate of completion from IITTM.
Selection Process: Candidates will have to appear for All India Admission test (duration 45 minutes; 50 marks) at various centers in India. The date of the exam is May 22nd, 2011. Test centers are at : Gwalior, Jaipur, Bhopal, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Hyderabad.
How to Apply for 2011 IITTM summer tourism program:
* Candidates must download the EWYL 2011 application form.
* Documents required:
a. Copy of Date of birth certificate
b. Letter from principal/ competent authority of the college/ institute certifying that you are a bonafide student
c. Foreign language certificate
* Submit the completed application along with a DD for Rs.100/- in favour of Director, IITTM, payable at Gwalior.
* Send application to: Director, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Govindpuri, Gwalior 474011 MP. On the top right hand side of the envelope super scribe "Application for EWYL 2011".
Last date for submission of application: April 29th 2011, 6p.m.
Important Note: Student must report for the counselling for the programs selected for on the stipulated date and time (please see official website for details). Students must ensure that they are eligible for the program. Eligibility will be verified during counselling and the student must bring along original documents.
