The University of Pune is conducting the Ph.D entrance examination for finding out the future scientists of our country. Now it's the time for interested candidates who wish to take a Ph.D(Degree of Doctor of Philosophy) in their life. The date for Pune university Ph.D entrance examination 2011 is 17 December 2011.Eligibility criteria for Ph.D entrance exam 2011 in Pune university
1.Post graduate degree(Master degree) examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade point average(GPA).
Post graduate degree (Master degree) examination law faculty with at least 55% marks.
5% relaxation will be given to the reserve category students in Maharashtra only. OR
2.Candidates working for national laboratories: government/private organizations/institutes sponsored/nominated by the respective employer, provided those candidates must hold a PG degree & should hold the rank of an Assistant director/or above.
The above mentioned rules are also applicable for foreign candidates if they have a master degree from statutory Indian universities. OR
3.Exception will be given to candidates who have passed the graduate degree examination with 50% marks & with 15 years of experience after graduation in related fields. But their qualifications will be decided by the research & recognition committee.
4.Candidates having at least 5 years of professional experience in the institute of chartered accountants/ or institute of cost & works accountant/or having qualification of C,S will be eligible for registering Ph.D in the faculty of commerce. But they should possess a bachelor degree from any statutory university.
5.Graduates in any faculty who has made valuable contributions to pharmacy/engineering will be permitted by the research & recognition committee on concerned faculty to submit his/her thesis in that faculty. But the candidates should have at least 5 years standing as the bachelor of concerned faculty.
6.For foreign candidates those who have not obtained Master Degree from Indian universities, the admission percentage will be 50% or equivalent GPA.
7.If the application is for research in inter disciplinary areas & from applicants that belong to a subject/faculty other than the subject/faculty in which the concerned research is proposed to be done & for foreign candidates who do not have any Master degree from Indian universities, will be examined by the guide & HOD before giving admission. 1.Candidates with M.Phil degree from any statutory recognized university,

For candidates applying for the Ph.D entrance examination of Pune University, application forms are available online in the official website of Pune University www.unipune.ac.in/phdexam/. The online facility for filling the application form will end by 27 November 2011 at 6:00PM. The candidates must send the relevant documents along with the hard copy of the application form in an envelope of size 36cm * 25 cm either by personally (by hand) or in the address mentioned below before 2 December 2011(last date).

The examination fees can be paid by a DD drawn on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in name of the registrar, University of Pune or by direct cash deposition in any branch of HDFC bank or bank of Maharashtra using system generated challan.
