For the academic year 2011-2012, Sakal India Foundation Pune has invited applications from eligible candidates for the fellowships and research scholarships. Eligibility criteria for fellowships / research scholarships / Sakal India Foundation Scholarships 2011-2012
As per the announcement, there will be 2 fellowships named after the late group captain Damodar Madhav Oka and late Sudha Damodar Oka. These fellowships will be awarded to the persons who are independently engaged otherwise registered for a post graduate degree with research in different fields like health science, poultry science or biotechnology. But in the health science category, preference will be given to diabetic, cancer as well as cardiac. At the same time research scholarships will be awarded to the persons who are independently engaged or those who are registered for Ph.D degree with research, provided the applicants should have a valid registration for doing research that leads to Ph.D from 2 years that will be prior to the application date for scholarship. Both the research scholarships and fellowships are mainly meant for encouraging research. For one year, the scholarships and fellowships are of Rs 20000.
