Shaji N Karun was born to Mr N Karunakaran and Mrs Chandramati in Kerala state, India. The original name of Shaji N Karun is Shaji Neelakantan Karunakaran. After completing his graduation in Kerala, Shaji N Karun went to film and television institute of India Pune for taking diploma in cinematography and he had won the President's medal on passing out. Anasuya Warrier is the spouse of Shaji N Karun and they have two children. The directorial Malayalam debut film of Shaji N Karun is piravi. Majority of the people in India are familiar with the fact that Shaji N Karun is a famous Indian film director and cinematographer. Apart from this, he was also the first chairman of kerala state chalachithra academy and the executive chairman of international film festival of Kerala during 1998-2001. Some of the hit films of Shaji N Karun include piravi, swaham, vanaprastham, kutty srank, nishad and many more.
