Eligibility criteria for Ph.D programs 2012 for Physical Science in IISER Pune
60% marks (55% marks for SC/ ST) in BE/ B.Tech/ M.Tech or M.Sc/ equivalent degree in Physics/ Material Science. Apart from this, the candidates must have qualified at least any one of the following fellowships/ tests in physics which is valid for the current academic year.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D programs 2012 for Chemical Science in IISER Pune
Candidates with 60% marks(55 % for SC/ ST) in M.Sc / equivalent degree in pharmacy / bioinformatics / chemistry / physics / biochemistry / material science are eligible to apply for Ph.D programs in chemical science. In addition, they must have qualified NET with CSIR-JRF/ UGC-JRF, CSIR- LS (Inorganic and physical chemistry), GATE or JEST or INSPIRE- Ph.D. It should be noted that when considering GATE, the following ranks are eligible.

Candidates with 60% marks (55 % for SC/ ST) in M.Sc biological sciences/ biophysical/ biochemical/ biodiversity/ ecology & environmental sciences/ bio mathematical or equivalent with physics, chemistry or mathematics are eligible to apply for this program. Apart from this, those who are having BE/ B.Tech/ M.Tech or MBBS degree are also eligible. In addition, the candidates should have qualified NET with valid UGC-JRF/ CSIR-JRF or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF-A or CSIR-LS or ICAR-JRF or DAE-JEST or INSPIRE-Ph.D or NABHM or with a valid GATE score.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D programs 2012 for Mathematical Science in IISER Pune
Candidates with 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ ST) in M.Sc/M.Tech/ M.Stat/MA in any field OR in B.Tech/ B.Sc/B.Stat/BA in any field are eligible to apply for this program. Apart from this, the candidates must have appeared for the NBHM Ph.D screening test for 2012. Those with undergraduate degree will be admitted to the integrated Ph.D program. But candidates who have shortlisted from the NBHM exam will be contacted directly.

Candidates must fill the online application form completely. Those who are interested to apply for more than one program/department should apply application forms separately for each program/department. The last date for receipt of completed application forms online is 30 April 2012. Remember that incomplete application forms will be rejected. Also note that candidates should be not more than 28 years on 1 August 2012. But in the case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Female applicants, there will be an age relaxation of 5 years.
