It runs four graduation courses (B. Tech) and total five post graduation courses (M. Tech) and thirteen Ph. D courses currently. Nowadays IIT Gandhinagar is under the campus of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda. New campus of IIT-GN is under construction at capital of Gujarat i.e. in Gandhinagar. Campus of Chandkheda is located on Visat-Gandhinagar highway and is 13-14 km away from Ahmedabad.
Research at IIT-Gandhinagar
IIT Gandhinagar provides courses like Master of Technology and Ph.D/doctorate course for R&D in engineering. It also runs summer internship research program during which students can improve their research abilities from this internship program. Every year IIT-GN announces this program. This program aims at development of research abilities among students as well as faculties in engineering. IIT GN also provides facilities to study as post doctoral fellow with stipend worth Rs. 30,000+Rs. 10,000 HRA. Anyone can apply who is having PhD degree of those who just submitted their PhD thesis and defense is yet to be completed.
IIT Gandhinagar is also having HPCLab which aims to facilitate research and developments which is nothing but High Performance Computing (HPC) facility for advanced calculations in computational fluid dynamics and computing in engineering. B. Tech courses at IIT Gandhinagar
B. Tech courses are of 4 year duration and have eight semester to compete graduation.
M. Tech courses at IIT Gandhinagar
M. Tech courses are of four semester duration and get two years to complete the post graduation degree. Admission to M. Tech courses is based on GATE score.
Ph D courses at IIT Gandhinagar
IIT Gandhinagar offers various 13 Ph D courses and they are as under. IIT Gandhinagar also offer start-early PhD fellowship and that encourages B.
