The Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts is a full time four-year graduation program which is a combination of liberal arts education in Mass Communication / Mass Media and a specialization in any one aspect of film making that include direction, editing, cinematography or production. The program provides a career-oriented technical training in addition to the theoretical content.
The 1st year is a foundation year in which the students are allowed to cover film and media from every angle in addition to their liberal art classes. At the end of the first year, students are given the option to select one specialization in Directing, Producing, Editing and Cinematography.
In the 2nd and 3rd year of the degree program, the students need to focus equally on their specialization besides continuing with their liberal arts classes. In addition, in each semester, the students need to select their own electives from Liberal Arts as well as Media categories. This option allows the students to customize their study program to include their personal interests.
And in the 4th year which is purely based on industry experience, there would be few formal classes. The students are given a chance to work on major projects, they need to complete their internships in the industry and work on AISFM initiatives. The completes the graduation program of the students who have the choice of entering the industry through the Placement Office of AISFM or continuing in the same school for higher studies.
During the course of the degree program, the students are given the opportunities to enter into the exchange programs of the leading film schools around the world and complete one semester of their course abroad.Admission procedure
Students who have successfully completed their +2 or intermediate with a minimum of 50% marks or those who appeared their +2 / final year intermediate exams are eligible to apply for the program. Those who are willing to register for the program need to register in the format given in the official website. Previous academic history and results of the personal interview rounds will be taken into consideration for the selection of candidates. The total fees for the entire period of 4 years is around Rs.1,312,500/- which is subject to change. There are scholarships of up to 50% of tuition charges which is based on the financial need. Additional charges of the fee include security deposit of Rs.50,000 which is payable at the time of admission and will be refunded after course completion and is subject to deductions if any. There are other charges which include the purchase of personal requirements like required software cost, laptop, camera and specialized materials required for the elective course.
