Deogarh is situated on the bank of Betwa River. It is 123 km away from the Jhansi and located on the western hills of Lalitpur range. The Deogarh city is well connected to many major cities of Uttar Pradesh. The city covers the area of 5 sq. km with the approx. population of 553 (1991 census). Deogarh is 211 metres above the sea level. The best tourism season to visit the place is from August to March. Light Cotton clothes are the general dress wearing in the city. Places of Interest
1)Dashavatar temple: This temple is dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. In the early times, the temple was popularly known as Panchyatan temple in north India. There are three large carved panels on the walls of the temple. These are - he Gajendramoksha panel, the Nar Narayan Tapasya and the Anantshayi Vishnu-depict scenes from Vaishnava mythology. The most important part of the temple is remaining portion of the spire.
2)Jain Temples: The city was a centre of Jains from the 6th to 17th century. There are total 31 Jain temples in the city which are remarkable.
3)Deogarh Archaeological Museum: This museum has a good collection of sculpture and crafts.
