Tourists visiting Jaipur city to see the Amber fort or Jaigarh fort will now be provided with electric cabs provided by JFT(Jiagarh Fort Trust) and Amber Developemnt Authority(ADA) respectively. Based on a complaint lodged by foreign as well as domestic tourists on the non availabliltiy of good vehicles, both ADA and JFT has decided to run electric cabs between these 2 forts to facilitate the tourists. The trial run of the cab between the routes was made by Bina Kak(state tourism minister) and Princes Diya Kumar(Secretary of City Palace Museum). But still some decisions regarding the cab have to come. Some of them include whether these vehicles can be used for persons above the age of 60 or disables persons.
The fare is yet to be decide. How many vehicles need to be plied is also not decided. Apart from this development programme, the local tour operators in Jaipur have also demanded the opening of ancient tunnel between the 2 sites to the public as the route is lesser and easier for the tourists to walk. Also power supply and other amenities must be provided inside the tunnel. But according to the sources, it will take time to open the tunnel.
