Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler from Andhra pradesh. He made his first match in Ranji Trophy domestic cricket in 2001-02 Cricket season was an exceptional as he made a double century and a century in the same match against Andhra Pradesh. He represented India Under-19 cricket team in 2002 tour of England where he scored 177 and 80 and led his team to a victory. He captained India under-19 cricket world cup in 2004. But his batting form has not matched initial expectations and he got into some controversies and so his consistency suffered. He joined ICL on August of 2007 with six other players from Hyderabad Cricket Association. He got a call from Sachin Tendulkar to join Mumbai Indians.
