History and Biography of Shah Rukh Khan


Shahrukh khan is a very famous personality in Bollywood. He was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi in a house of Pathans. His father was Taj Mohammed Khan who was an Indian independent activist from Peshawar. He has also declared that his grandfather's origin was Afghanistan.Sword of Honour His mother was a adopted daughter of Major General Shah Nawaz Khan who was a General in Indian Army. After the partition of India, Khan's family moved to Delhi from Peshawar. Shah Rukh Khan also has an elder sister whose name is Shehnaz.

He lived in neighbourhood of Rajendra Nagar aand studied in St. Columba's School where he also participated in academic activities such as sports, drama, etc. He also won "Sword of Honour" which is suppose to give to the student who has represented the school and kept the spirit of the school alive. In 1985, he took admission in Hansraj College and received his degree of Bachelor in the field of economics. He also achieved a Masters Degree in Mass Communication. He then decided to start his career in Bollywood.

After his parent's death, Shahrukh Khan settled in Mumbai. There before doing any film, he married Gauri Chibber who was a Hindu on 25th of October 1991. He has a son named Aryan who was born in 1997 and a daughter named Suhana born in 2000. According to him, he also respects the religion of Hindu as same as he respects that of Muslim.

Nasreen Munni Kabir has produced a documentary about the life of Shah Rukh Khan in 2005. The name of the documentary was "The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan". This consist of concert tour of Shar Rukh Khan and also the daily life of Khan. One more book featuring his family life "Still reading Khan" was released in the year 2006. Another book released by Anupama Chopra was launched in 2007. The book's name was "King of Bollywood: Shahrukh Khan and the seductive world of Indian cinema" was about the Bollywood Career of Shah Rukh Khan.


Film Career of Shah Rukh Khan


Shah Rukh Khan studied acting at Theatre actions Group i.e. TAG in Delhi. He started his debut through a television serial Fauji in 1988 which still comes in DD national Channel. In that serial he was playing the role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai. He then also acted in Aziz Mirza's Circus serial in 1989. which was on basis of the life of circus performers. Then he also worked in a English language film written by Arundhati Roy. During these days people found him more attractive and compared him with Dilip Kumar, a famous actor of that time.

After moving to Mumbai, he started his Bollywood career with the hit film Deewana released in 1992. His performance in the film brought his first Filmfare Award i.e. Filmfare best Male Debut Award. King KhanThen Shah Rukh worked in Darr and Baazigar in which he worked as villain and killed her lover in the film. Darr was the first film in which he worked with Yash Raj Films company. His performance in both of these films gave him his first ever Filmfare best Actor Award. He then worked in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa as a young musician. Then he also worked in Anjaam along with Madhuri Dixit. Then he also got Filmfare Best Villain Award.

In the year 1995, Khan worked with Salman Khan in the film Karan Arjun whos producer was Rakesh Roshan. Then he played his next role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. It was one of the biggest blockbuster of Bollywood. This film won nearly ten filmfare awards. Khan received many good comment from different companies for working in DDLJ.

Suddenly, the year 1996 was not good for King Khan as all his films didn't worked in the box-office. Then in 1997, he acted in Pardes which was biggest hit of the year and then in Yes Boss, a comedy film. This in the same year he worked in Yash Chopra's Dil to Pagal Hai. He got Best Actor Award from filmfare in 1997.

Then next year he started doing films with Karan JoharKaran Johar with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which became the biggest hit of 1998. For his performance in KKHH he got his fourth Filmfare Best Actor Award. He also received praise for working in Mani Ratnam's film Dil Se. In 1999, his only film was Baadshah was a average film that was neither a hit nor a flop.

In 2000, he contributed Mohabbatein to the Bollywood industry. This was the first film in which Shah Rukh Khan was seen along with Amitabh Bachchan in the same film. He acted as a college teacher in this film and won Critics Award for Best Performance. He then played a role as a brother of Aishwarya Rai in Mansoor Khan's film Josh. His other hit film was with Juhi Chawla i.e. Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. He then worked with Karan Johar in 2001's hit film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. His next film was a hortoric film bases on the life of Ashoka the Great.

In 2002, he played a fantastic role in Devdas which was titled as the biggest hit of 2002. He also played a opposite role against Salman khan and Madhuri in the family based film Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. Chalte Chalte and Kal Ho Na Ho were his two great films of the year. Kal Ho Na Ho was announced as Bollywood's biggest hit in overseas markets. 2004 was a great year for Khan as he worked with Farah Khan in Main Huan Na. Then moved on to do a super duper hit film Veer-Zaara with Rani and Preety Zinta. In the same year he also dis Ashutosh Gowarikar's film Swades. Again he won Filmfare Best Actor Award for Swades.
In the year 2006, Shah Rukh worked with Karan Johar for the fourth time in the film Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. His second film in the same year was a action film Don: The Chase Begins Again, which was a movie remarking the film of 1978 hit of Amitabh Bachchan, the film Don. This film was a successful one in the box-office.

He then worked in Chak De India showing the importance of women in Indian National Hockey Team of Women. For this film, King Khan won another Filmfare Best Actor Award in 2007. The earning from this film was 639 million INR. In the same year, he acted in Farah Khan's film Om Shanti Om along with Deepika Padukone as the leading actress in the film. This one was alos a highest grossing Bollywood movie of the year 2007. In the next year, he worked in a Romantic film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with leading actress as Anushka Sharma. In 2009, his another hit film came up named Billu where he was seen as a actor named Saahil Khan alond with his childhood friend Billu, the role played by Irfan Khan.

In 2010, his blockbuster film came up which was directed by Karan Johar. This film was named My Name is Khan. This movie was the best movie of the year and also won many awards. This leading actress in this film was Kajol who was seen with Khan the sixth time in this film. This movie was shooted in Los Angeles, California. He played a role of a Muslim in this film who was not treated well by the Whites after the Twin Tower incident in America. Now, this man is also known by the King Khan of Bollywood

Shah Rukh started producing film when he joined a company named Dreamz Unlimited along with Juhi Chawla and also Aziz Mirza in the year 1999. The first film of his with this company was Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which released in the year 2000. His next film was then Asoka in 2001. Then the third one was Chalte Chalte which was a hit in box-office.

Then he joined hands with another company Red Chillies Entertainment, with whom he made Main Hoon Na. He then also did Paheli, which didn't worked in the box-office.
