Over 35, 000 entries and an increased prize purse of US$340,000 will be part of the 2012 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, which has been included as one of the top 10 marathons in the world.
Number of Entries for 2012 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
1. Full Marathon: 3,500 (out of which 250 running places are for women)
2. Half Marathon: 11,000 (out of which 1000 running places are for women)
3. Dream Run (including the Corporate Challenge): 22,000
4. Senior Citizens' Run: 1800
5. Wheelchair Event: 200

1. Marathon (42.195 km) and Half Marathon (21.097 km): 25th July 2011
Closes on: 20th August 2011 or as soon as running places are filled, whichever is earlier.
2. Dream Run (6 km): 5th September 2011

3. Sr. Citizens' Run (4.3 km) and Wheelchair Event (2.5 km): 24th September 2011 or as soon as running places are filled, whichever is earlier. Documentary requirements for 2012 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
1. Photograph: You must submit your passport sized photograph with your application form. If you are submitting your application online, then you need to submit your passport sized photograph (it should not exceed 75 kb in size & jpeg format) as an attachment. Ensure that your face is clearly visible in the photograph.
2. ID proof: It is compulsory to submit a Govt. issued photo ID proof along with your application (including online application). This ID proof could be one of the following: Passport, driving license, PAN card, election card (Voter's ID), ration card, etc.Rules and regulations of 2012 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
1. Once you have submitted an application and registered for the race, you cannot transfer the registration/application to another person.
2. One form - one applicant and one entry per person is allowed. Multiple applications by same person will be rejected.
3. Incomplete application form will be rejected. Ensure that you fill in the details of fields marked with an asterisk (*)
4. If you do not submit the requisite entry fee, you application will be rejected.
5. You must sign the entry form 'Waiver', without which your application will be rejected.
6. Group entries will be accepted only for Dream Run, Senior Citizens' run and Wheelchair Event race categories. Group entries for marathon and half marathon categories will be rejected – for these events, you need to apply as an individual.
7. Information about the event and intimation of acceptance of your entry will be sent by email. However, if you have not given your email ID in the application form, it will be sent by post.
8. If your entry is not confirmed, then you will get a refund of your application fee on or before November 30th 2011. However, Rs.30/- will be deducted as processing charges. In case you cancel your entry, you will not get a refund. If there is any issue about the refund, you must alert the Event Registration officials. No refund query will be entertained after 31st December 2011. Where to get running bib and timing chip for 2012 Mumbai Marathon
Once your participation for the event is confirmed, you need to collect your running bib and timing chip from Friday, 6th January 2012 to Sunday, 8th January 2012.

Outstation and overseas participants can collect their running number and timing chip from the event venue on Saturday, 14th January 2012.
Important Notes
1. If you are a participant in Marathon category and participant in Half Marathon category, you must collect your running number & timing chip personally from the Expo. Only in case of unavoidable circumstances, you can send your representative to collect your running number bib and timing chip on your behalf. However, a representative cannot collect the running number bib and chip on behalf of more than 1 Marathon and Half Marathon participant.
