Porn-less or Point-less? Banning porn - people take it by the horns

The whole public has gone haywire after the recent ban on porn, when people in India were not able to access porn sites as they were totally blank due to the ban. How many know the reason behind the ban, cause of it and what repercussions would it have on the general people? Every important decision must be taken with utmost care and a logical deduction of what would lead to what and whether it would have a positive result. I wonder whether there was anyone who gave any thought behind putting a ban blindly

First, I would like to clear myself that I am not a person who is addicted or is an ardent admirer of porn sites or videos. But I am a logical thinker and a realistic person. Living in a India, where rape cases are high, woman are major targets of harassment or eve teasing, injustice against women is on high, and all this is not considered but the fact that may be someone would shut there doors and watch porn and get themselves satisfied is definitely considered as wrong. When men watch porn, it is not a rocket science that they get their pleasures satisfied. Do we want them to be frustrated and start raping women or take out their frustrations on the weaker sex?

I wont ever support the fact that this is against our culture. From the land of Kamasutra, if someone says this is against our culture, they seriously are ignorant about culture. Many few people know that there had already been a law in place regarding pornography under the IT Act. Still, we were accessible to porn sites, but not any more.

Facebook is full of people going overboard with anger about the ban and have come with many funny and eye opening liners ridiculing the ban that was imposed. NRI friends are happily offering their hands to help the hopeless Indian friends who are now restricted their secret pleasures.

Even in other countries where porn is banned, people have always found ways to get there porn collection despite banning websites or imposing some law. Then what is the point of wasting time on such trivial issue of watching porn? Why cannot the government impose strict laws on issues that are much important and critical to overcome? India is a country which needs its government to focus much on the issues faced by the masses socially, financially, racially and in other spheres rather than the issues which give you pleasure at night!

I still hope the government focuses much on needed and vital issues like agriculture, benefit of farmers, tax reforms, employment, energy sectors, economy, stringent laws against terrorism and rape or murder, and in general the welfare of the public.

My only request to the youth and the people who have the authority or power to make change is to make changes at sectors which are beneficial to the whole public in general rather than imposing useless bans and causing havoc in the minds of the people and making them lose all hope and trust in the government (the very democratic government)!!!!
