Navagraha Temple is also known as 'Abodes of Surya' or 'the temple of nine celestial bodies'. As the name indicates, Navagraha Temple is dedicated to the nine planets of solar system, i.e. the nine planets namely Sun (Surya) , Merucry (Buddha) , Venus (Shukra) , Jupiter (Brihaspati) , Mars (Mangal) , Saturn (Shani), Moon (Chandra), Rahu and Ketu are worshipped here.

Navagraha Temple is built in the late 1800 AD by a ruler Rajeswar Singh, son of Rudra Singh. Major portion of the temple was destroyed by a great earthquake after a few centuries of its construction but it was reconstructed again later on.
