Shyamontika Sharma began her career by performing in dance videos. Her first album was Hiyamon which was released in 2002. Shyamontika has been loved by her audience since her very first appearance. She has done numerous dance videos for various production houses and also performed on Doordarshan and these are what enhanced the Shyamontika Sharma film career.
Shyamontika Sharma's first film was Rangman in which she appeared as a guest artist in the year 2004. It was after her fantastic performance in the movie that she got to enact the role of Jaanmoni, the lead role in a popular VCD series of Assam. She has attained the zenith of popularity after playing this role. People lovingly call Shyamontika by the name of Jaanmoni and she has been enacting this role since. Jibon Bator Lagori was the first debut film of Shyamontika Sharma as the lead artist and this film was released in the year 2009.
