Bhupen HazarikaBhupen Hazarika was one of the famous singer in Assamese Film Industry. He was not only a singer but he was a music composer, a music director, a lyricist and a film maker in Assamese film industry. He was born on 8th September in the year 1926 in Sadiya of Assam. When he was just 10 years old he wrote his first song and also sang it in the film Joymoti which was directed by Jyoti Prasad Agarwala. He was also worked in the film Indramalati which is also directed by the same director Jyoti Prasad Agarwala in the year 1939 when he was just 12 years of old.

In the year 1942 he has completed his +2 arts or Intermediate Arts in Cotton College of Assam and completed Bachelor in Arts from Banaras Hindu University in the year 1944. He has completed his Master in Arts in the year 1946 and Ph.d in Columbia University of New York in the year 1954. So he was also a brilliant student. He was also the president of "Asom Sahitya Sabha" in the year 1993.
