About the Madan Kamadev Temple of Assam
Madan Kamadeva Temple is situated in Kamrup district of Assam and is 34 kilometers away from Guwahati city. The temple is popularly known as "Khajuraho of Kamrup". There are 24 temples in the complex. Although the origin of the temple is not known but it is a estimated that the temples were built during the period of Pal Dynasty in 10 to 12 century. The temple is also known as "Pancharath" temple. The main deities of the temple are Uma and Maheswara. The other images or idols of the temple are six headed Bhairab, 4 armed Shiva, terrible looking demon and men-women. The temple displays an example of Nagara architecture which can be seen by the images carved out of monolithic rock.

People can visit this temple through out the year but the ideal time is February to May.
How to reach the Madan Kamadev Temple of Assam
The temple is 34 km away from Guwahati on Rangia – Tezpur road. To reach the temple one has to go up Baihata Chariali or Chaurasta and from there it is 3 ½ km distance to the temple. Bus service is available from Guwahati to Baihata Chariali. From there you will get auto and other vehicle to the temple.
