Safaris in Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is the oldest park in Assam and is famous for its One Horned Rhinoceros in the country. About Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is the oldest park in Assam spread over Golaghat and Nagoan Districts. It covers an area of 430 square kilometers. The park is famous for One horned rhinoceros along with wild elephants and tigers. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area. It is about 220 kilometers away from Guwahati City. It was declared as a national park in 1974 and after that declared as a UNSECO world heritage site.

Elephant safari is a very comfortable and convenient way to explore Kaziranga National Park. The elephant safari starts early in the morning and it continues for almost 1 hour. This trip is much enjoyable because a wide range of the park can be covered by this safari. Through this safari one can get chance to see 
groups of Indian Elephants and One-horned Rhinoceros at a very short distance. One can enjoy a close encounter with the many wild animals which makes the trip memorable; This Elephant safari covers Baguri, Hole Path, Mihimukh and Kohora Central Path range.Jeep Safari in Kaziranga
Jeep safari is another most enjoyable way to explore the wildlife of the park. It starts from morning 06:30 and continues up to afternoon 14:30. Jeep safaris are accompanied by a guide or escort and last for 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 hours in the afternoon. With jeep safari one can see one horned rhinoceros along with wild buffalo, Elephant, tiger, Bear, Python, and prehistoric looking monitor lizard etc. The main attraction of jeep safari is the birds of the park. The varieties of rare and endangered birds like the crested serpent eagle, Pella's fishing eagle and Grey headed fishing Eagle, Jungle fowl, Bengal florican and water fowl, goose, a large number of pelicans, Black naked stork, Snake Bird can be seen through jeep safari.
Tour details of Elephant safari
Day 01 : Kaziranga is 220 kilometers away from Guwahati city. On the first day of the tour , your journey starts from Guwahati Airport or Railway station to Kaziranga. On arrival at Kaziranga check in the wildlife Resort and stay over night.
Day 02 : After have breakfast take a Jeep safari to the eastern range of the park as, this part of the Park is known for bird watching. The most commonly seen birds are Crested Serpent Eagle, Greater Adjutant Stork, Bar Headed Geese, Whistling Teal, Pelicans. Palla's Eagle and Grey Headed Fishing Eagle are frequently seen in the park. The endangered Bengal Floricans can also be seen rarely. After that return to the lodge and have lunch. After lunch you can visit either central or western range by jeep safari. Come back and stay overnight in the lodge.
Day 03 : The third day is for elephant safari which starts early in the morning, at around 05:30 am and continues up to 06 : 30 am. You will get wake up call half an hour before the ride starts. After elephant safari return back to the resort for breakfast. After having breakfast again start jeep safari to either central or western range of the park. After lunch visit the other part of the park by jeep safari. Come back and stay overnight at wildlife resort.
Day 04 : After having breakfast drive back to Guwahati. On arrival at the airport / railway station starts your onward journey.Safari Timings in Kaziranga National Park
