History of the temple
This temple is one of the oldest temples of the Chamba district which is known as Gatet Mata temple. This temple was built in the beginning of the 19th century by the local people of the area. Firstly they collect the cash from every people and after that they built it. The complete temple is made of stone. And its roof is made of wood and covered with slate. The people of that area says that the main reason behind this temple is that once Mata came in the dream and said that I am not happy in area which is about 5 km from this temple and you take me from it so people of that area go their take to Mata with himself and after that they built a temple. The people of the area celebrate a function every year. Here in this temple every year so many people visit. People of that area said that number of people every increases. They said that this year about 5000 people already visited this temple and take the blessing of the Mata. The architecture of the temple is so good it is in V shape and roof is made of stone. The man reason behind it is because in this place there is snow fall so snow on slate not stay for a long time and wood will never decay.

This temple is situated on the top of the hill. This hill is in front of the Chamba city. So from this temple you can see the panoramic view of the Chamba city. You can also see the beautiful view of the mountains which are always covered with the snow. About 2 km from this temple there is big stone and below this stone there is a small cave. This temple is about 10 km from the Chamba on the Khajjiar road; you can reach this place by bus and taxi. For this place buses came regularly after a certain time interval. And the best season to visit this temple is in summer.
