History of the temple
This is one of the oldest and religious temples of the Chamba district. It was built in the end of the 18th century. This temple was made by the local Raja of the Chamba. When this temple was made in the beginning then the statue of the Kali Mata is placed below the tree. But now there is small room is made for the temple. Inside this room there is a small statue of the Kali Mata is places and on the both side of the statue there is Trishul is placed. In the front of the temple there is a small ground where every year function is held in which so many people visits and take the blessing of the The Mata. In this temple there is a function held every year in the month of the August in which so many people visit.
Nearby places for the wondering
About 100 meter from this temple there is another temple of Naag Raaj who is the god of the snakes. This temple was built in the beginning of the 18th century by the local people of the area. On the right side of the temple there is a small village where about 50 people lives and the people of this area built this temple.
How to reach this place
This temple is about 15 km from the Chamba on the Khajjiar road and you can reach by bus or taxi. For this place there are so many buses are available after regular interval of the time. This temple is situated on the top of the hill, so after reaching the Gajnui you have to walk for about 1 km above on the hill. As this temple is situated on the top of the hill so in the winter this place is covered with the snow so to visit this temple summer is the best time, during that time climate is so good. You can also reach this place by rail or air plane.
