Here we are talking about the various temples in the Baktpur region of the Chamba district. This region is about 15 km from the Chamba on the Khajjiar road. In this article we are talking about the three temples which are Banaru Mata temple, Gatet Mata temple and Kali Mata temple.
Banaru Mata temple
This temple was made in about 2010 and built by the local people of this area. In this temple there is a small statue of Banaru Mata is placed. This temple is made on the corner of the road. Whole of the temple is made with the stone and it is in V shape and on the top of the temple they placed a Trishul which is protecting device of the Lord Shiva. Behind this temple there is big story. As this temple is built on the corner of the road and this point is known as the accident prone zone, here in this point so many accidents takes places. So people of the area think that Banaru Mata will Decrease it and after that there is no more accident takes place in this point. Here every year people came and take the blessing of the Mata and go to home happily. People say that Mata will full fill their wish that's why they came year. Every year in the month of the August there is Jagaran and so many people came to this temple.
Gatet Mata temple
This temple is one of the oldest temples of the Chamba district which is known as Gatet Mata temple. This temple was built in the beginning of the 19th century by the local people of the area. Firstly they collect the cash from every people and after that they built it. The complete temple is made of stone. And its roof is made of wood and covered with slate. The people of that area says that the main reason behind this temple is that once Mata came in the dream and said that I am not happy in area which is about 5 km from this temple and you take me from it so people of that area go their take to Mata with himself and after that they built a temple. The people of the area celebrate a function every year. Here in this temple every year so many people visit. People of that area said that number of people every increases.
Kali Mata temple
This is one of the oldest and religious temple of the Chamba district. It was built in the end of the 18th century. This temple was made by the local Raja of the Chamba. When this temple was made in the beginning then the statue of the Kali Mata is placed below the tree. But now there is small room is made for the temple. Inside this room there is a small statue of the Kali Mata is places and on the both side of the statue there is Trishul is placed. In the front of the temple there is a small ground where every year function is held in which so many people visits and take the blessing of the The Mata. In this temple there is a function held every year in the month of the August in which so many people visit.
