History of the temple
Chaund Mata temple is one of the oldest and the religious temple of this village which was built about 200 years ago. Behind this temple there is interesting story related which is given below in this article. Firstly this Mata is in another village and one day the Head of this village get one dream in the night and Mata came to him and said that she was not safe in this area and please come and take me to himself then in the next morning thy came to that place and they take the Mata with himself after that this temple came into existence. This temple is not so big; the statue of the Chaund Mata is placed inside the wooden piece. Every year in this temple there are so many function are being organized by the people of this village as well as from another villages.
Nearby places for the wondering
Around this temple there are so many places for the wondering. About 200 meter from this temple there are two another temples are present. Out of these two temples one temple is Naag Raj who is the God of the snakes, in this temple in the month of the September there is function being held by the people of the Gajnui area. And the 2nd temple of the Kali Mata is situated. This temple is one of the oldest and religious temple of the Kali Mata in the district. Apart from these this temple is situated on the hill so this place is also famous for the hill station and for the heavy snow fall in the month of the December and January.

This temple is about 15 km from the Chamba on the Khajjiar road and you can reach easily this place by bus or taxi. The best season to visit this place is in the summer.
