Shimla: city of hill
Shimla is basically famous for the hilly station. This place is the capital of the Himachal Pradesh. In the ancient times during the British Government it was the summer capital of the nation. In the south this state boundary is touched with the Solan district, in the west it touches with the Bilaspur district, in the north it touch with the boundary of the Mandi district and in the east it touch with the boundary of the Sirmour district.
In this city there are so many place for the wondering. There is beautiful and historical Ridge ground which was built by the British government. Below this ground there is a big water tank from where water is provided to the people of this district. On this ridge ground all the festival and functions are being celebrated. In the one corner of this ground there is a church and also library where so many books are available. On another comer of this ground there is a statue of the Nation's father Mahatma Gandhi is standing below the LCD screen. In the north of this ground there is a famous Gaiety theatre where so many cultural and other events take places. Below this ground there is Mall road where you can buy the things and see the culture of this district. In front of this ground there is a High court of the state is situated. About 500 meter from this ground there is historical IGMC (Indira Gandhi Medical Centre).
About 100 meter below this ground there is a market which is known as Lakkar Market because the things they places are completely made of the wood and in Pahari language wood is known as Lakdi that's why it is called Lakkar Bazaar. In this market there is Asia's first Ice Skating Club is situated where every year so many people came to learn the skating across the country as well as aboard.
In the West of this ground there is a GSSS for girls and DAV public school is place where so many students are teach. About 1 km from this place there is Sectriait office and Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Shabha is situated. Above it there is a small zoo.
About 100 from this ground there is Scandal point which is famous for the love point where so many couples are sited.

You can reach this place by bus as well as taxi. This place is about 120km from the Chandigarh and about 350km from the national capital Delhi.
You can also reach this place by train, which is one of the famous train known as the Shimla Kalka Express.
You can also reach this place by air plane and the nearest airport is in Bhuntar from where this place is about 20km. and the nearest international airport is in Chandigarh from where this place is about 120km.
when to visit this place
The best season to visit this place is in summer but if you want to see the snow fall than visit in the month of December or on the New Year.
