Origin of the Shiv Ling in Gajnui
Here we are talking about the one of the religious district of the Chamba district which is basically famous for the temple and the historical monuments known as Chamba. But here we are talking about the largest Shiv Ling in the district which is situated in the Gajnui. This place is about 15 km from the Chamba district. Behind this Ling there are so many stories says the people of this area. People says that once one people of this area got a dream and in the dream Lord Shiva came and said that in another place I am not happy because this place is not so much clean and people of this area also do not worship, so if you want to worship me than visit this place and take me. Than in the next morning he go to this place and he saw that place is not cleaned where the Shiv Ling is placed than he took the Shiv Ling with himself and take it to home than in the way about 100 metre from the house he want to rest and he kept the ling on the side of the road and after few time he is not able to pick the Shiv ling after that this Ling is place there and in the month of September there is a function being held. In front of this Shiv Ling there is a small temple of the Naag (God of the Snake) and on the back side of this Ling there is another temple of the Kali Mata.
How to reach this place
This Shiv Ling is situated in the Gajnui which is about 15 km from the Chamba on the Khajjiar road, after reaching Gajnui you have to go walk for about 30 min and then you reach the Shiv Ling. You can reach this place by bus as well as taxi, there are so many buses are available for this place from the Chamba and the last bus from this place to the Chamba is in the evening about 6:30 pm.
