History of the temple
Here we are talking about the one of the famous temple of the Solan district which is known as temple of Surya Dev and Mata. This temple was initially built in the year 2002 by the central government. The inauguration of the temple is done by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpai, during that time he the Prime Minister of the country. During that time there is no road for this place than they came in the Helicopter and inaugurates the first stone of the temple and after that this temple is still under construction and its work is almost completed and the remaining work of the temple will be completed in the coming few years.
Main attraction of the temple
This temple is basically famous for its architecture. When you go to this temple than there is about 20 to 30 upstairs are present to reach the main Hall of the temple. On the main entrance of the temple there is a big Rath of Surya Dev which is made with special stones and inside this Rath there is placed different types of the things. And when this temple is completed and anyone go below this Rath, than he/she will free from the Grah Dasha. Inside the temple there are so many statues of the different Gods are present.
On the left side of the entrance gate there is a statue of the Lord Hanuman, which is of red colour. After that there is a statue of the Mata. And it is said that this temple is made in such a way that the first ray of the sun keep on this statue of the Mata. After that there are about all the nine Mata statues are made on the wall of the temple. On the right side of the entrance gate there is large Shiv Ling is placed which is about 5 to 6 feet in height. And in front of this there is a statue of the Ganesh. And in the last there is a statue of the Chandra Mukhi.
Below this hall there is a small library and also there is a museum where so many attractive things are placed. On the both side of the temple there is a big ground and inside there are so many statues of the animals are made.
How to reach this place
This temple is situated in the Solan district. It is about 10 km from the Solan on the Kurgal road. You can easily reach this place by bus as well as taxi. Distance of Solan from various places is given as:
From Shimla it is about 50km, from Chandigarh it is about 75, from the Delhi it is about 300km and from the Chamba it is about 350km.
You can also reach this place by train and famous railway station is in Kalka. You can also reach this place by airplane and the nearest International airport is in Chandigarh from where it is about 80km. and the summer is the best time to visit this place.
