Dalhousie is one of the beautiful hill stations of the Himachal Pradesh. This place was firstly discovered by the British governor Lord Dalhousie in the 18th century, after that this place is known as Dalhousie. When this place was discovered than, this place is surrounded with the forests. But as time change this place had made so many developments. In the starting of the 19th century there are so many churches are built by the British Government, also few hotels and schools.
But when British leave this place in 1947 than progress rate becomes double but this progress is not maintained yet. Nowadays there are so many public schools are present. There are about 50 plus hotels and restaurant are presents with deluxe, semi deluxe and ordinary facilities are provided by them.
Main attraction of the place
Here in this place there is about three churches are present in Balloon Cantt, Gandhi Chowk and Subhash Chowk. These churches were built by the British government in the 18th century. There is also a small zoo in which Duck, Rabbit, Parrot, Chinese Cock and different varieties of fishes are present.
Punchpulla, which is about 3 KM from the Dalhousie, is basically famous for the artificial lake in which you can enjoy the Swimming and boating. You can also enjoy the tracking on the large mountains with tracking tips from the expert. The other adventures are like you can enjoy the shooting.
The other nearby places for the wondering is like Khajjiar which is famous for the temples and lake. Daindkund, is another place which is situated on the top of the hill where head quarter of the Air force is situated. Chamera Lake is also another natural lake where you can enjoy the boating. This is one of the biggest lakes of the Chamba district.
In this places there are so many restaurants and hotels are present for the night stay. There are deluxe, semis deluxe and ordinary hotels are presents.
This place is basically famous for the heavy snow fall in the winter season on the Christmas. So someone wants to enjoy the snowfall than visits this place on the eve of Christmas or on New Year.
How to reach this place
This place is situated in the Chamba district; it is about 50 km from the ISBT, Chamba. This place is connected to the other parts by road. There are so many buses are available for this place, you can also reach this place by taxi.
