Here we are talking about the one of the famous district of the state which is known as Chamba. This is basically famous for the Hill Station, Heavy snowfall in winter, Large number of temples, Naturals lake and other historical monuments.
Chamba: Famous for Snowfall, Monuments, Temple and Hill Station
Here we are talking about the one of the famous district of the Himachal Pradesh which is known as Chamba. This district was firstly came existence into 16th century by the local king of Chamba, Sahil Verman. This district is basically famous for the Heavy snowfall, Hill Areas, panoramic view of the Mountains, Historical Monuments, Religious Temples and Ravi River.
History of the Chamba
Chamba is one of the beautiful districts of the Himachal Pradesh. This city comes into existence in the 16th century by the Local King of Chamba, Sahil Verman. This city is spread in about 6,656 square km area. The boundary of this district touches different states like in North it touches the Jammu and Kashmir while on the West side it touches with Kangra district while on the East side it touches Pathankot boundaries and in south it touches some part of the Kangra district. This district is basically famous for the heavy snowfall in the winter season. This city is situated on the bank of the Ravi River; the population of the district is about 70 thousands and there are basically Gaddis people lives whose have so any Sheep and other animals like cows and buffalo.
Places for the Summer trip
There are basically two or three places for the wondering which are Khajjiar, Dalhousie and Bharmaur. These are discussed in details below:
Dalhousie: Beautiful hill station
It was firstly developed by the British Governor Lord Dalhousie after that this place is known as Dalhousie. It is a beautiful hill station, in the winter there is heavy snowfall so who want to see the snowfall can come to this place. Here in this place there are about three churches are present. There is also a small zoo in which you can see the rabbit, mouse, ducks and other different varieties of the fishes. There is also a place punchpull, which is famous for the small artificial lake where you can enjoy the boating and it is also famous for the tracking.
Khajjiar: Mini Switzerland of the state
This place is also known as the Mini Switzerland of the state. This place is basically famous for the tracking, horse riding, boating and other sports adventures like Para Gilding. Here in this place there is a natural lake which is situated in the middle of the ground. On the right side of the lake there is forest rest house. In this place there is a statue of the Lord Shiva's which is about 85 feet height and was constructed about 3 years ago which is polished with the bronze solution.
Bharmour: Pilgrimage place
This place is basically famous for the temples; here in this place there is a temple which is known as Chaurasi temple. This is one of the oldest and religious temples of district which was very oldest during the times of the Mahabharata. This place is also famous for the Holy journey of Mani Mahesh which is basically famous for the Dal Lake.
Famous festivals of the district
There are two main festivals which are celebrated in the district, these are International Minjar festival and Suhi Mata festival.
International Minjar Festival
It is one of the famous festival of the state. This festival came every year in the month of July and continues for the 14 days in which so many cultural programs takes place. The main attractions of the fairs are exhibition program and Jaloos (journey) in which so many Gods are taken to the Historical Ground. This festival was firstly started in the 17th century. It is the sign of Brother Sister Love. When this festival begins than sister put a long thread on the shirt of her brother and prays for his brother long life. And on the last day this is blown in the water.
Suhi Mata Festivals
This is one of the oldest and religious festival of this district. This festival came every year in the month of March and April and continues for the several days. It is believed that, in the 16th century when there is no water in the city than Local king had gave the sacrifice of his daughter whose name was Suhi and after that the water is flown from the mountain below this temple. After that this festival is celebrated every year in the memory of that girl "Suhi".

This district is basically famous for the various historical monuments, temples and statues.
Famous historical monuments
In this district there is a museum known as Bhuri Singh Museum which was built in the 19th century by the local king of Chamba. This museum houses so many collections of the ancient cultural, weapons, jewellery and other clothes which were used by the kings are kept inside it. Apart from it, there are two big Hall where King lives during the 17th century, but nowadays these are used for government purposes. There is a historical Ground in which all festivals and other events take places.
Famous temples
Lakshmi Narayan temple is one of the famous temple of this district which was built in the 17th century it is basically famous for its architecture beauty. Other famous temples are Chanudi Mata temple and Suhi Mata temple; these both temples are situated on the hill. In Bharmour, there is a Chaurasi temple which is one of the oldest temples of the district.

Ravi River
This district is situated on the bank of the Ravi River. This river is originating from the Bara Bhangal and on the way there are so many small rivers combine with it and form large river. This river flows to Punjab than Pakistan and after that it reaches the Sea.

This place is connected to the other part of the country by road. You can easily reach this place, because there are so many buses are available for this place from different places. The nearest railway station and airport is in Pathankot (Punjab) from where this place is about 80km.
