State's first ever cricket stadium in Dharmsala
This stadium is located in the Dharmshal city of Kangra district. This stadium was established in the 2003. This is not a big ground, but according to the former director of the NCA (National Cricket Academy) that this ground is capable of organising international match. It has total capacity of about 26,000 seats with some VIP seats. This stadium was initially built by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association with the help of central sports ministry in association with state youth and sports ministry.
The first international was played between the Pakistan and India A team in the 2005. The first One Day match was played between the England and India in January this year, which England won the match very comfortably. There are so many IPL (Indian Premier League) matches were played, after 2010 all the IPL season host at least 3 matches in this venue. This year there is three matches were played between MI (Mumbai Indians) and KIXP (Kings Eleven Punjab) which MI won the match. Second match was played between the DD (Delhi Daredevils and KIXP which DD won the match. Final match was played between the DD and CSK (Chennai Super Kings) which CSK won the match very easily.
On the back side of the stadium, district oldest government college is situated which was built by the British Government in 18th century. This stadium is situated between the mountains of Dhauladar. In the summer when you visit than this place, than these mountains are fully covered with snow. As you know that every stadium had its End name for the bowling it has only two end name which is River end and College end.
Apart from International match there are so many Ranji Trophy match were played. This year a charity match was played between the Bollywood stars and politician. In the coming season there are so many matches will be played.
This place is basically famous for the Living place of Dalai Lama who is the Guru of Tibet. Maclorganj is the place where Buddhist monastery is situated. This is one of the famous monastery of the state as well as country. Every year there are so many monks and foreigners visits this place to enjoy the beautiful view of this city.

From Jammu it is about 60 KM

This place is also connected by other transport media like train as well aeroplane. The nearest International Airport is in Gaggal from where this stadium is about 15 KM. you can salon reach by train and the nearest railway station is in Pathankot from where it is not so much far.
