Kaza is one of the famous place for the wondering in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It is headquarter of the Sipti valley. Lahaul and Spiti is the 12th administrative district of the Himachal Pradesh which was formed in the 1960. Before 1960, this place is the part of the Kullu district. This is one of the biggest district of the Himachal Pradesh in area with 13850 square km. it has least amount of population in the state and it is 3rd least populated district in the country. Kaza is one of the beautiful place in the valley of Spiti which is situated on the bank of River at an altitude of about 4000 meter from the sea level. It is currently headquarter of the Spiti sub division. Kaza is a clod desert place with stark beauty, narrow valleys and high mountains which are always covered with snow. This place is about 155 km from the Sarahan and about 45 km from the Kalpa. Tabo: Famous for Buddhist monastery

Tabo is one of the ancient village in the Valley of Spiti which is situated on the left bank of the river and it is about 45 km from the Kaza. Tabo is also known as The Ajanta of the Himalayas. Tabo is the largest monastic complex of this district has been declared as protected monuments by the archaeological department of the India. Here one of the world's famous Buddhist monastery is situated which is second famous monastery after Tholing Gompa in Tibet. You can also reach this place from Kalpa from where it is about 163 km.


Key Gompa: Largest monastery of the state

Key Gompa is one of the largest monastery of the state as well country. This monastery was established in the 1th century and houses so many collections of the Buddhist statues, sculptures and other musical instrument which are present in the monatery. This monastery is about 7 km from the Kaza.

Kibber: Highest village if the world

Kibber is the highest village of this valley which is situated on the hill and connected by road. it is about 20 km from the Kaza. This is the world highest village which is situated on such a height and connected by road.

Pin Valley

In this district there are basically three valleys, Pin valley lies below the Kungri Glacier. This valley is also known as the Land of the Ibex and snow leopard. In this valley there are so many Buddhist monasteries are situated.

Kunzam Pass

This pass is the main entrance for the Spiti valley from the Manali. It is about 80 km from the Kaza. It is one of the highest pass with an altitude of 4600 meter from the sea level.

Chander Tal Lake

This lake is about 7 km from the Kunzum Pass, is one of the best lake of the district. This lake is very close to the River Chandra.
