Paragliding Competition in Billing, HP from October 24
International Paragliding Competition will be starts in HP from 24th October to 30th October in which so many players across the country as well as outside the country will be participated. This competition will be taken over the mountains of Billing Valley.
International Paragliding Competition in HP from 24th October
World Paragliding Cup Association (WPCA) will organize the Pre-Paragliding competition in the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Kangra district. The competition will begin from 24th October to 30th October during which so many players will participated in this event.
Paragliding World Cup Association
This is the first time that Pre-Paragliding competition will be held in the Himachal Pradesh by the Paragliding World Cup Association. This competition will be held in the Billing area of the Palampur valley in Baijnath in the Kangra district. Billing is the world's second largest site after the DRAS in the South Africa for the paragliding in the world.
Sudhir Sharma, State Urban Development Minister and president of the Billing Paragliding Association said while reporting to the media toady, that this is the first time that HP will host such a great International Event in the state which will definitely increases tourism in the state and it is a good opportunities for the young Para gliders of the state to win such competition.
He also said that about 164 Para gliders have already registered their name for this event across the country as well as international. Out of these Para glider 8 male Para glider are in the top 100 ranking in the world and while 3 women Para glider are in the top 20 ranking in the world. We are expecting about 250 Para gliders will participate in this event which will be started from the 24th October in the kangra district.
This competition was organizing by the Paragliding World Cup Association in corporation with Billing Paragliding Association and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department. The 1st winner of event will awarded with cash prize of RS 2.5 Lakh, 2nd winner will be awarded with RS 2 Lakh while 3rd winner will be awarded with cash prize of RS 1.5 Lakh. Winner will be also awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medal according to their position in the event. The Gold Prize will be awarded by the Chief Minister of the state Raja Virbhadra Singh who was the Chief Guest of the Closing ceremony which was held in the Billing on 30th October.

Billing Paragliding Association has provided full facility of Helicopter with 20 ambulances on the takeoff and landing point with medical facility and expert doctor and also 25 strong rescue teams will be present on the high hills of the Billing valley.
