Khajjiar, which is popularly famous for the hill stations, which is situated in the Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. This place is about 25km from the Chmaba. This place is basically famous for the Lake, Temples, Monuments and Different variety of flora and fauna. In the month of December and January, there is heavy snowfall occurred so you can also enjoy the snowfall and it is a good place for the wondering in the winter. Main Attraction of the Place
This place was firstly founded in the 17th Century than this place is famous for the natural lake, which is surrounded in a large area and situated in the middle of the ground. And it is also believed that it is not possible to measure the depth of this lake. On the one bank of this lake there is a temple of Lord Nag Devata (God of Snake) is situated which was established in the 18th Century and was one of the religious and oldest temple of the district. Apart from it there are another temple situated in this place.
In this place there are two famous idols of the Lords are built. The idol of the Lord Shiva was about 85 feet in height and is colored with Bronze solution. While the second idol of the Lord Hanuman was built in the beginning of the 20th century and is about 20 feet long and is of red color.
Snowfall in 2014
Last year on Christmas Eve there is heavy snowfall occurred and it is about 20 years that on the Christmas snowfall occurred in this place. So it is good time to visit this place. And also on the New Year there is again and second snowfall of the season occurred but this time it is not so much. So due to it this place is disconnected from other part of district but today road are cleared by the PWD Department of Chamba. So you can easily reach this place by bus as taxi and enjoy the snowfall with friends and family. You can also enjoy the horse riding in this place.
How to reach this place
This place is about 25 km from the Chamba on the Jot road; you can easily reach this place by bus as well taxi. When you visit this place in the winter then always wear warm clothes.
