History of Shiv Ratri festival
The International Shiv Ratri Festival was initially started in the end of 17th century in the Mandi district. During the festival so many deities and devotees across the different part of district participated and together in the Mandi district. This festival was celebrated in the Lord Shiva's temple after the shivratri festival and which will continues for a week.
Shiv Ratri Festival 2014
Shiv Ratri festival 2014 was started from 28th of February and which will continue for the nest one week. During the first day so many deities and devotees took participated and during that the Chief Minister of the state Raja Virbhadra Singh and with his colleagues was also present. During that he also addresses the peoples that these festivals are the art of HP and the main purpose for organizing such festival to keep the faith in the lords. As we all of know that HP is land of Gods and here every district have so many temples and they worship different Gods which shows how the people faith in the Gods. Main attraction of the fair
During the festival there are so many Deities and devotees were present in the Madho Rai temple. This is one of the occasions in a year when you can see all the deities in a single place. By visiting this place you can also know the culture of this district.
Apart from it you can also visit another temple and buy different things of the Mandi district sold by the local peoples of the district. How to reach this place
This festival was celebrated in the Mandi district which is about 150 Km from the Shimla and about 225 km from the Chandigarh and about 450 km from the Delhi. You can also reach this place by the airplane and the nearest airport is in the Bhuntar from where this place is about 150 km.
During this time the season of this place is very cold so when you visit this place then always wear warm clothes.
