52nd National Challenger Chess competition started from 9th May in Dharamshala
National Challenger Chess Competition will be started from the 9th of May this year and will be held in the Indoor stadium in the Dharamshala of the Kangra district in the Himachal Pradesh and the closing ceremony will be held on the 18th May 2014.

This is the first time in the history of Himachal Pradesh in 42 years than national level chess competition will be held in the state. This year it will be held in the Dharamshala in the Kangra district and will be starts from 9th May and continue for the next 11 days in which about 13 rounds will be play.
This competition was organized by the Himachal Chess Association and the Kangra district chess association. In this event total 13 rounds of game will be played and all the match of the competition will be shown live telecast on the DD Sports channel and this events so many grand master, International master and women grandmaster will be participated in this events. The live telecast and other programs will be led by the Tamil Naidu teams and the social media and media management will handle by the students of the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
Important Dates
Timing and venue schedule for this competition has already been announced by the association. The opening ceremony will be takes place on the 9th of May after the Lok Sabha election in the state and on the same day first match of the events will be held. In this total 13 round will be play in the next 11 eleven days and the closing ceremony will be takes place on the 19th May.
The chief of the association said that the top nine players of the events will be selected for the national team A where they will play with themselves and selected for the national team and get chance to play for the India.
Venue
After 42 years this is the first time in the Indian history that this competition will be held in the Himachal Pradesh state. This competition will be held in the Indoor stadium in the Dharamshala in the Kangra district from the 9th May. So if you want visit this place then you can reach this place either by bus, train or also aero plane and the nearest railway station is about 15 km from this place.
Prize
The chief of the state chess association said that in this competition about RS 2 Lac of prize money will be awarded to the winner with memento and other certificates will be given. The prize will be given only to the winner and certificates will get all the candidates who will participate in this event.
