Indian Institute of Advance Study is situated in the Shimla district on the back side of the State Assembly building. Initially when this building was established by the British Government than it is the head quarter of the country and after the 1947 it is declared as President Rest House and recently it became one of the most popular institute and famous tourist spot for the wondering in the Shimla. Shimla was the summer capital of the country during the British time and British Government has developed this place by creating lots of building with unique architecture, established train line etc. In the 18th century they have established a building with one of the most amazing architecture which you have seen in the state. The work of this building was completed in about 5 to 10 years. During the British time most of the work and other meetings were held inside this building and it was become one of the most usable government buildings. There are lots of rooms with balcony and all room is well furnished with wood and painted with color.
The materials used for creating building were stones and wood and other binding material like cement etc. After the freedom this building was declared as President Rest House means whenever President will visit this place than they have to stay inside this building. But later this building became the center of higher education and becomes one of the best institutes for higher studies in which classes for higher education will be held.
Main Attraction
Now this building becomes one of the best places for the wondering across the state. When you will visits this place then you will definitely don't believe with your eyes when you'll see the architecture of the building. It is one of the strangest and beautiful buildings situated in state with such architectures. It is totally made up of stones and wood. In front of this building there is big lawn and around which different variety of flowers are present. There are about two main entrances but on the both side of the main entrance, you'll see that red and yellow flowers are available. Inside the building there are lots of rooms are available.
In the back side of the building, you'll see the clock system used by the British peoples to calculate the time and to know the direction. There are also several small secret rooms and doors are available inside the building for the exit which no one knows. There is also another big grass lawn on the back side of the building where different varieties of flowers and trees are available and also you can see different statures made from the wasted materials like stone, plastic, glass etc.
Apart from it you can also enjoy the panoramic view of the Shimla from the place. You can watch the beautiful view of mountains and enjoys sunsets in the evening.
How to reach
This building is situated on the back side of the Assembly Building and about 2 KM from the bus stand. You can easily reach this place by taxi. You have to take entry pass at the Main Gate (incase if you are studying in the HPP University or any other government university of state then don't need to take entry ticket). It will be RS 10 if you wonder outside the building but if you want to go inside the building than you have to pay RS 30. You can take photo inside outside the building but inside the building there is no permission of the photo caption. Once you have taken the entry pass you can wonder the building and take photos outside the building with your friends.
