History of Minjar Fair
Apart from the Chamba peoples, there are very few peoples in the state as well as outside the state who will know the history of this fair. There is very interesting story behind this fair, this fair is sign of brother sister love. In the ancient or during the King time in the 16th century, when most of peoples will complete their agricultural works are free so King of the district decide to enjoy the people by organizing fair in the district in which lots of peoples from the district will participate and enjoy their life. They can also enjoy this fair by participating in different which are held in the fair. When, this fair held than sister put a long red color thread on her brother shirt which is then flown in the river after one week. International Minjar Fair 2014 will starts from 27th July or on the last Sunday of July month and which will continues for the next two days. On the first day of the fair sister put long thread on her brother shirt and which is flown into the Ravi River on the first day and on the second week of festival there are so many shops are available in which peoples buy different things such as for the house hold purpose.
Main Attraction
Main attraction of the fair will be on the end of first week when peoples go to the Ravi River and there they will flow this long thread in to water. Around 4 pm on the same day a big jaloos will be held in which local Devi and Deities are brings together and they are also taken to the River. Apart from it there are nights shoes will be also held in which local as well as Hindi and Punjabi singer will participate and entertain the peoples. The government and non-government organization also held various exhibitions in the fair. There are so many shops are available where you can eat local sweets of Chamba district. On the last wrestling will be also organized by the fair society and the winner will be awarded by the chief guest with cash price and memento. In the first week of the fair Hockey, Football and Cricket matches will be also played in the police ground so if you want to participate then you have to enter your team's name.

This fair was held in the main ground of the Chamba which is about 100 meter from bus stand on the civil hospital road. You can easily reach this place by bus as well taxi.
