History of Karnataka State
The very earlier history of Karnataka was with hand axe culture and it has been found that the knowledge about the usage of iron was well known in Karnataka earlier than the same knowledge development in the North India. That is, the iron culture was probabily begun in Karnataka by the 1200 B.C.
There were many rulers ruled the place namely Kadambas, Gangas, Chalukyas and others. The old literatures are saying that the very earliest cultures of the Karnataka State were Nandhas, Maruyas etc., The north side of the Karnataka was with the Shathayahanas during the years 30 and 230 BC for almost 200 years. Karnataka was one of the states that were under the shelter of the Pallavas. The other places that were under the Pallavas empires were Tamilnadu and Kerala.
The period of the Kadambas in Karnataka, was during 345 AD. The name of the Kadambas dynasty was a Brahmin youngster namely Mayurasharman who had become a warrior from a Priest and took the sword against the Pallavas. After becoming a warrior Mayurasharman defeated one of the powerful Pallavas king KakushthaVarman who had been with very strong supports from the Vakatakas and Guptas.
Next we can have a look at one of the other big period of the Karnataka State namely Gangas. The period of the Gangas in Karnataka was around 350 by having the Mysore District, Talakadu as the Capital. Upto some extends, the Gangas was as a Sovereign but later on the Gangas started ruling the Gangavadi till the 10th century.
The BadamiChalukyas
Next one is the Badamichalukyas and this one can be called as the crucial period for the Karnataka State as the whole state was brought under one single rule. Also the Chalukyas Art is well known for their arts all India level. Still the evidence for the chalukya arts are standing in the form of the Monuments at Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal.
As the chalukyas empire was with great support and exposure, that empire covered not only the Karnataka State but also the Maharashtra State. Of course, not only those two states but the maximum parts of the other reputed states like Tamilnadu, gujarath, Orissa and Andhara..Rastrakutas in Karnataka
Followed by the Rashtrukas came and ruled the Karnataka places during the period of 753. The last King from the chalukya in Karnataka can be assumed by the history of Karnataka as the Keerthivarman II. The defeating of the Kanauj by the other empires like the chalukyas, Badami made the Age of Imperial Karnataka
Then the Rastrakutas was brought to an end by the year of 973. The rastrakutas was defeated by Someshwara and he killed the King rajadhiraja by 1054 at the place Koppar.the son of Someshwara was vikramadhitya VI worked for the hindu law was praised by most of the people. Vikramadhitya VI captured the Kanchi from the Chozhas at the year of 1085. Not only at the southern part of India but also Vikramadhitya VI defeated the east part of India he captured the Vengi during the 11th century. The name of the commander of vikramadhithya VI was Mahadeva and he constructed the Mahadeva temple at Raichur which was known as Itagi.

Hoysalas
After the Hoysalas in Karnataka, the chalukyan generation Balla II was set free and Balla won againstSevunaBhilama during the period of 12nd century. Followed by the victory he found the temples at various places like Beluru. The commander of Balla built the Hoysaleshwara. The name who built the Hoysaleshwara is Katarnalla. The empire of Vijayanagara of the Sultanate of Delhi defeated all the Sothern kingdoms like Seyunas, Hoyasals and the Pandyas who were ruling the Tamilnadu city Madurai and the arrival of the Delhi sultanate to the South was felt by the Southern Kingdoms as an alien came to their areas and they were difficult to face them as the Vijayanagara had great political support as well as the religious power. During the beginning of the 19th century Karnataka state came under the control of the British people after the end of Haider 's son during the verge of the 18th century. Finally after the British rule, Karnataka State got free from the rulings at 1956. So, we can call the year of independence for Karnataka is 1956.
