The B.N.Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS) is a constituent college of the University of Mysore (UOM). In addition to regular MBA programs, BIMS offers an executive development program (EDP) for corporate firms on request.

The spacious campus of BIMS Mysore has its own auditorium for college & inter-college events & shows. The air-conditioned auditorium with modern equipment can seat about 200 people. The expansive library is well-stocked with books, journals & periodicals as well as the latest newspapers & magazines. Besides large classrooms there is a computer lab for 60 students at a time. This program is of 2 years duration, with 2 semesters in each year. Candidates successfully passing this program earn the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

Eligibility for BIMS MBA program


(1) You must be a graduate or post graduate in any stream (arts, science, commerce, engineering and technology, etc) from any recognised University.
(2) You must have obtained a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination (for SC/ST & Cat. I candidates 5% relaxation is available).

  • B. Course rules
  • Students doing this course cannot take up part-time or full time employment during the course of their studies. If it is found that you have taken up a job then you are liable to be removed from the course.
  • You must have a minimum attendance of 75% in each paper. If you do not fulfil this requirement, you will not be able to sit for the exam.
  • For each paper, there is internal assessment (25 marks) + written examination at the end of a term (75 marks).
  • You will need to do a Project Report, which will be evaluated for 100 marks by both an internal examiner & an external examiner + there will be a viva-voce for 50 marks
  • The minimum pass criteria is 40% of the marks in each examination paper & 50% of the marks in the aggregate of 4 semesters. While there is no minimum for internal assessment & for viva-voce, to pass in the project report you need to obtain minimum 75 marks. Class as per % is: (i) 60% and above in the aggregate is First Class; (ii) 50% and above in the aggregate is Second Class; (iii) Less than 50% in the aggregate is Fail.
