Winning the NCAA championship is considered to be one of his best moments. He made medal winning performances at the commonwealth as well as Asian games. Vikas is considered to be the first Indian male athlete to reach the world championship finals. His current coach John Godina is a 3 time world champion and a 2 time Olympic medalist.
