GVK Emergency Management Research Institute (EMRI) is currently working with 108 ambulance scheme which is a free ambulance running all over Uttarakhand. Now EMRI is also thinking to launch emergency boat service specially in Tehri district of Uttarakhand. Boat ambulance service is specially developed for aspirants of Tehri district of Uttarakhand and will operate from Tehri Dam reservoir. Boat ambulance service will work in about 15 villages of Tehri district of Uttarakhand. This service is launched specially for rural health emergency cases. These ambulances will very fast and will reduce travelling time. Similar program is also started in Brahmaputra in Assam by EMRI.
