The current polyhouse scheme in Uttarakhand is the Chief Minister's polyhouse scheme but that is not getting trust of farmers of Uttarakhand so Uttarakhand Government has decided to add some more schemes in current polyhouse scheme. The most interesting thing included in this scheme is the announcement of cash subsidy of Rs 10,000 and free disbursement of seeds worth Rs 5000. Earlier Uttarakhand farmers were facing many serious problems like- topography, fragile environment, fragmented and small holdings, very poor irrigation facilities, very less sources of marketing, etc. These are some problems due to which Uttarakhand Farmers were almost loosing their interest in setting new polyhouses. Now Uttarakhand Government has decided to set up 20,000 modern cluster based polyhouses which will boost the production of vegetables and flowers in Uttarakhand. Now according to Chief Minister's Protected Cultivation Scheme, Government will give 50 per cent central subsidy under the Horticulture Technology Mission for setting up new polyhouses. There is also provision of loans for setting new polyhouses. Now the question arises is that what is the best condition for building new polyhouses, so polyhouses should be constructed in an area of 100-300 square metres.
