Badrinath, Kumaon, Auli, Chamba holds the names of the major tourist places for the state. The state has much to offer to various kinds of tourists with different taste like trekking, adveturous tasks and above all it offers the scenic beauty to all thye tourists.
It has varied types of different places and destinations like wildlife sanctuaries, pilgrimage spots and many more places to visit which makes this state as a highly renowned state. The religious values still possess within the people and the scenic beauty of the mountains att6racts the people not only from the India itself but also from other parts of the world too. This state offers the visitors a unique kind of satisfaction and they are pleased to come over this place again and again. The lush green valleys, high summit of the mountains, greenery, and dense forest with unique wildlife makes the people delighted and hence tourism has developed in this state at a major level in past decades.
These are the few famous tourist places in the state:
1. Auli:
It is located to the north of the state and this place is for adventures. It is under the Garhwal region of mountains. The mean sea level height is about 9000 feet. Deodar and Oak makes the famous view of the Himalayas. Nanda devi is constituted by the same place.
2. Almora:
This is the most beautiful place in the Kumaon region. This place is full of scenic beauty. A good place for lovers and mostly the couples come to this place. Chitai Temple and Katarmal are the major attractions for the tourists. The rivers running by are Saryu, Bhagirathi and Gomti. The people here mostly preach Lord Shiva. According to one of the epic of Hinduism this place is capable of liberating oneself from the cycle of life and death.
3. Binsar:
The place located in the Kumaon was once the summer capital of Chand Raja. Located at the height of about 2,420 meters this place is capable of providing a great view of the snow-covered mountains to the people over there. The two ranges namely Nanda Devi and Panchchuli exists here. This is the only place from where one can have a clear view of holy places like Badrinath, Gangotri and Kedarnath. The famous visiting places here are Ganapati temple, Shiva temple. This place also offers a great opportunity to the trekking.
4. Corbett National Park:
The national park situated along the Ramganga River valley is considered as one of the greatest wild life sanctuaries of the India. The area of 1318 sq. kilometers is surrounded by the Park and this was a famous place from the time of British existence itself. A person named as Jim Corbett, a native of British origin took steps to conserve the park and hence his name was taken as the name of the park later. Deciduous forest covers the most part of the park. Varieties of different species can be found here which include elephants, tigers, leopards and chausingha.
Therefore, this place is a concern of national importance and government has taken all the measurable steps to preserve this.
5. Chamba:
At the centre of Garhwal lie this beautiful place and the position of 1,676 meters. It provides the cool views of nature and the snow covered mighty peaks of this beautiful nature. This place is situated at the equal distances from Rishikesh and Mussoorie. From this place upper Himalayas comes into being.
